Once the Command Phone is activated, it is the critical communications link
between an airport's personnel and their local first responders. After all parties have
connected, a collaboration of critical information takes place between an unlimited
number of initiator and answering endpoints both on and off property. An incident
commander can provide audible instructions to each answering endpoint that are
displayed on the ViTv1200 monitor. In addition, the entire call can be recorded,
archived and reviewed later for training and compliance purposes.
By re-using much of its existing IT/telecom network, an airport is able to dispense
with its expensive leased line and third-party services and bring online a state-of-the-
art IP crash phone system that delivers advanced capabilities with guaranteed
availability.
Possibilities
The capability of immediate response at an airport facility is enhanced by
eliminating proprietary devices, systems and networks and by implementing an
open standard approach to interoperable communications. Now, clients can
evolve from an otherwise stand-alone communications system into a robust
interoperable network. The system can be further enhanced to selectively "hot
dial" additional individuals or group entities and even interoperate with two-way
radio systems on different frequencies. All participants can be individually
programmed to address a specific application or ad-hoc to serve applications
on the fly.
Conclusion
Empower your organization by eliminating proprietary devices, systems and
networks and start implementing a standards-based approach to interoperable
communications. Now, the possibilities of evolving an otherwise stand-alone
communication system into a robust interoperable network are within reach for any
size organization today and well into the future.
