Unified Communications Success Stories
VoiceInterop Extends Crash-Net System at International Airport to Airline Operations Critical Staff.

An airport’s crash phone is perhaps its most important piece of communication equipment. In the event of an emergency, air traffic control personnel in the tower simply pick up a dedicated phone and are immediately connected with first responders and airport operations staff.

When VoiceInterop was subcontracted by a national systems integration company to design, install and support a 40 endpoint crash net system, the goal was immediately clear. Design a crash net system to replace the legacy system already in service and then extend the new system far beyond the current system's capabilities. The VoiceInterop Command Phone solution provides a significant number of enhancements over the legacy system. Some of these enhancements include multi tiered alert groups, instant connection to designated end points, and visual system & participant presence monitoring on touch screen displays. By working closely with the airport authority, VoiceInterop delivered a custom system tailored to the airports needs which allows them to use Command Phone functionality for both high risk emergencies and day to day operational issues. This dual functionality increased the value of the airport's crash net system by providing the reliability they demanded for emergencies and the feature rich functionality they needed in daily airport operations.

Campus Security at Multiple College Campuses Consolidated Into One Dispatch Control Center. officer1

A university with multiple campuses needed to centralize their two-way radio communication network over a large geographical region. Security personnel at each campus rely on two-way radios to communicate. However, each campus location had a different FCC frequency license and were too far from each other geographically to be able to communicate in a reliable manner.

VoiceInterop leveraged the university's wide area network (WAN) to connect all their remote security forces at each satellite campus into a centralized dispatch using AudioMate Unified Communications Software and AudioMate360 Series gateway devices. Not only did VoiceInterop's AudioMate solution address the problems of two-way radio communication, but it added the feature of being able to use communication tools other than radios on the network. Now, security personnel can use any two-way radio, land line, cell phone or PC to communicate with any of the satellite campuses.

"By deploying the VoiceInterop solution, no securty personnel are ever out of touch with the dispatch center. This is a giant leap forward for us..."   - Director of Security

Consistent corporate policies and procedures were difficult to enforce with decentralized dispatch locations. Also, the high cost of operating individual sites was a significant motivation for consolidating the locations. These challenges were met using the full suite of VoiceInterop AudioMate products. These products included AudioMate360 Series gateway devices, AudioMate Communicator software dispatch consoles, and AudioMate Unified Communication server software. The bus company's employees are now trained on one unified system with features that were not possible with the legacy system. Whether it's re-routing a fleet of buses to new destinations in real time or patching a bus drivers two-way radio call through to a local 911 center, AudioMate products allowed the bus company complete control over their communication network and proved to be an unbeatable value of powerful feature sets, performance, and reliability.
